Accuracy Speaks Single Stage Match Trigger
Accuracy Speaks was founded in 1989 and has been a mainstay in the shooting sports, both regionally and nationally, ever since. In partnership with Derrick’s wife Cheryl, the company has built and modified firearms for national and world champions. That standard of excellence has been maintained to this day. In 2018, the Martins retired and sold the business to their head gunsmith and shop manager, Sean Damerell.
Sean started working at Accuracy Speaks in 2011 immediately after becoming certified through the Yavapai college gunsmithing program in Prescott, AZ. He is proficient with all types of repairs, modifications, and custom builds. He takes pride in building accurate and dependable long guns for duty, defense, competition, and hunting. Sean specializes in bolt action rifles, AR-15/AR-10 pattern rifles, M1/M-14 rifles, and many other modern and vintage sporting and military weapons.
Welcome back to Bob LaMarca, who worked with Accuracy Speaks part-time through the 1990s! Bob is well-known as an RSSC Member since February 1989 - and has been a past executive board member.
In addition, Bob has been instrumental in developing the Rio Salado Desert Classic and the Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun competition, for which he also directed past matches.
With Bob's life-long passion for shooting and gunsmithing, he is a welcome addition to the Accuracy Speaks Gunsmithing family. His notable achievements also include:
Ø High-power service rifle competitor
Ø RSSC Junior Olympic small bore rifle program Chief Rangemaster and Team Coach (14 years)
Bob's hobbies include shooting, motorcycling, bowling and soccer
Dan McDonald began shooting competitively at age 12, starting with a small-bore 3 position rifle. After a first season of modest successes, he was introduced into the world of high power rifles, and eventually went to the national matches at Camp Perry with the Illinois State Jr. High Power Rifle Team. From 2004 to 2007 he competed, again with modest successes.
After Dan graduated from high school, and decided college was a waste of time and money, he enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman. He was stationed in Alaska to serve with the 1-25th Stryker Brigade. Being identified as a better than average marksman, he was pushed through the Army's Designated Marksman Program, and when deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, carried the M-14.
When his contract with the Army had run its course, Dan explored Alaska for a few years, finally deciding to pursue his dream of working with guns for a living. He moved to Colorado and completed an Associates Degree in Occupational Skills of Gunsmithing from the highly reputable Colorado School of Trades.
Dan lives with is wife Jess in Mesa with his two dogs. He has been part of Accuracy Speaks since 2017.
Jeff Kellow enlisted in the United States Air Force, in 1985, and during his 1st duty assignment Jeff was introduced to two members of the Air Force rifle team leading to his desire to learn competitive shooting. Upon discharge, from the USAF, Jeff enlisted, in 1990, with the 161st ARW Arizona Air National Guard. During his deployment to Saudi Arabia, for Desert Shield, Jeff learned that the 161st had an active marksmanship program and was looking for “New Shooters”.
Upon making the “Team”, and competing at the National Guard Combat Championships, Jeff was hooked. For the next 24 years, and in between multiple deployments, he was an active NRA Highpower rifle and Combat rifle competitor with the 161st ARW and Arizona National Guard team. Jeff earned his Distinguished Rifleman, Air Force Badge #290, in 2002. Jeff is in the Arizona Governors Dozen, and has been awarded Elementary Bronze in pistol.
From 1990 until retirement, in 2013, Jeff has been a member of multiple Arizona and Regional Combat Rifle Championship teams. Jeff was also the Arizona Individual Combat Rifle Champion 11 times and the Military Area Council (MAC) Region VII Individual Combat Rifle Champion 5 times.
With military retirement looming and the successful completion of 7 complete rifle builds, utilizing the Accuracy Speaks “Do It Yourself Gunsmithing” program, Jeff accepted an offer, from Derrick Martin, to work as an apprentice gunsmith for Accuracy Speaks.
